Description

Gesha from a Colombian Coffee Champion

Leonardo Henao’s name holds serious weight in specialty coffee. As a 2020 Cup of Excellence winner and the Director of Coffee at Pergamino, he’s shaped Colombia’s export scene from both sides of the cupping table. With Finca El Jardín, perched at 1,750 meters in Santa Bárbara, Antioquia, Henao returns to production—this time with one of the world’s most sought-after varietals: Gesha.

Floral, Tea-Like, and Complex—This Gesha Delivers

Expect heady jasmine, vibrant bergamot, and a tropical finish that lingers like a long-steeped Darjeeling. The body is delicate, almost silky, with a clean washed profile that highlights Gesha’s prized clarity. Brewed as a pourover, it shines—no milk, no sugar, just clarity and florals in full bloom.

What Makes It Special

This is not just a Gesha. It’s a washed-process Gesha grown by a former Cup of Excellence champion who left his award-winning farm to build something new from the ground up. The altitude, variety, and precise fermentation combine to produce a coffee that bridges prestige and accessibility.

Pricing with Purpose

This coffee is positioned in the “competition-winner” tier of Colombian Geshas. It’s a fraction of Panama Gesha prices, yet every bit as impactful in the cup. This isn’t everyday coffee. It’s a flagship release designed to elevate your lineup and your palate.

Brew Tips from the Roaster

We recommend a 1:16 ratio on a V60 or Kalita Wave. Use 203°F water, grind slightly finer than standard pour over, and bloom generously to capture the full aromatics. Total brew time: 3:00–3:30. Let it cool slightly before sipping—the florals get louder as the temperature drops.

Direct Impact, Direct Trade

This is a farm gate coffee. Buying directly from Henao supports an experienced producer committed to building a new future in Colombian coffee. While Colombia ranks third in global exports, coffees like this represent its true potential—microlots that rival the world’s best.
