The Nyamasasa washing station, founded in 2021, is a young company that has already made a significant impact by exporting three to five containers of specialty coffee each year. The coffee cherries, hand-picked at optimal ripeness, are delivered fresh to the washing station. Here, they undergo a meticulous fully washed process and are dried on raised beds. Once processed, the coffee is sorted and prepared for export at the Jumbo Safari dry mill in Goma before making its journey to the port of Mombasa, Kenya, or Tanzania.
